From an early age I was obsessed with film and music; not just consuming them, but figuring out how they were made. The creativity and craft behind the films I grew up with left a lasting impression, and that curiosity has never really left me.
A job at a small book publisher in my hometown turned out to be a fortunate detour; it gave me a grounding in graphic and web design that offered a more practical route into a creative career. That foundation carried me into a Graphic Design degree, where I was always looking beyond the brief. Film, animation, motion design; I kept pushing into those areas, trying to set myself apart. I came away with a first class degree and landed my first role at Apsmart, a mobile-centric startup where I got my first real taste of UX and UI.
The 15 years that followed took me through some of the biggest names in news and finance; Thomson Reuters, Refinitiv, and LSEG; working across design, animation, and videography. The work changed constantly, which suited me fine.
